CD QUALITY RADIO HELP (mp3pro)
The Electric Front is
currently broadcasting in CD quality sound, some people may achieve that
automatically, but most wont. Here is how you can listen to us, with
the same audio quality as the original CD's they came from!
1. Many people use the Live365 player, but we must now change our method of listening to Winamp 5 or higher (or Winamp 2.8- 2.9)(NOT WINAMP 3). The Live365 player window will still pop up first alongside the WINAMP player if you wish to see song titles. (or you can close the live365 player window once the stream is playing)
2. You must use Winamp or other mp3pro compatible audio player. Make sure you are using Winamp 5 or higher (or Winamp 2.8- 2.9), and not the Winamp 3 platform (which doesn't support cool plugins, and basically isn't nearly as good as the 2 or 5 platform anyways).
3. If you already have Winamp 5 or higher (or Winamp 2.8- 2.9) proceed to step 4, if not then CLICK HERE and download the latest Winamp 5 or higher platform. Once you download the file, install Winamp 5 or.higher.
4. If you already have the free Thomson mp3pro plugin then proceed to step 5, if not then CLICK HERE and download the latest mp3pro plugin for the Winamp 2 platform (if link doesn't work visit www.mp3prozone.com and search for the free mp3pro plugin for Winamp). Once you download the file, install the mp3pro plugin for Winamp. Usually it installs to the Winamp directory automatically. If not, then make sure you browse and install to the plugins directory in your Winamp folder (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins)
5. Once
you have installed the plugin, open Winamp, and go to Winamp preferences (an
easy way is to hit contol and the letter "P" at the same time. Once
you have it open, look on the left side of the window, and find where it
says Plug-Ins, immediately under there it should say INPUT, OUTPUT,
VISUALIZATION, DSP/EFFECT etc. Select INPUT. On the right hand
side you'll see a list that has a bunch of Nullsoft plugins in it.
About 6 down you'll see a plugin named THOMSON mp3PRO Decoder, highlight it.
Once highlighted, click the configure button just below the list. A
window pops up with options. Make sure the ENABLE SHOUT -/ICE-CAST
TITLE STREAMING box is filled in with a check. If it is you are fine,
if not then click in the empty box to fill it in. All boxes should now
be checked under the general tab.
Now simply hit ok, and then close all Winamp preference windows, and your Winamp should be configured to play The Electric Front (and mp3pro files) in CD QUALITY SOUND!!!! If you already listen to the EFR with Winamp as your degault player, then you're now done! If not, go to step 6.
6. We're almost done. Now simply go to
www.live365.com and make sure you are logged in. If you are
logged in look at the top right of the main live365 page (or
any page with this
graphic in the top right corner) and look for the tab with the words
MyLive365 on it. Click that to enter your live365 settings.
7. On this page you will see a list of buttons reading Presets, Wishlists, Listen Settings etc. Click on LISTEN SETTINGS.
8. Once clicked you are in your listening settings, and anything you change now, you can always change back. you will notice a column on the left reading items like LISTENING WIZARD, CONNECTION SPEED and MP3 PLAYER.
From the MP3 player list you will see options like PLAYER 365, REAL PLAYER and MP3 player. Select MP3 player if it is not already selected (when the little circle is filled in, it is selected). Once the MP3 player (eg. Sonique, Winamp 5 or higher (or 2.8 -2.9x) is selected, hit the SAVE SETTINGS button immediately below.
YOU ARE NOW READY TO LISTEN TO THE EFR IN CD QUALITY!!!! ENJOY!!!!
